Arhitectura zonei de câmpie din comuna Pir

  • Subiect: The ethnographic territory of Satu Mare County is divided into three areas: Oaş Region, Codru and the plain area. In the north west of the county, near the border with Sălaj are the municipality of Pir. In an area of sandy and loamy land of swamps, people from ancient times took advantage of geographical conditions of the areas used for construction of household clay, sand, reeds and rods. In the early twentieth century houses were built of mud walls knocked in a crate which after a preliminary drying rises vertically and filled with clay beaten. The thickness of the wall was 50 to 60 cm. This technology has been replaced by walls of văioage (unburnt brick with hulls). Roof was covered with reed. Several types of houses built in the first half of the twentieth century in the village of Pir marks the plains architecture.
