Ţara Oaşului în zbuciumul istoric de la cumpăna secolelor XVII-XVIII

  • Subiect: During the end of the 17th century and the beginning of the 18th century, the population of Satu Mare County faced some of the most interesting events: wars, foreign invasions, peasants’ revolts, epidemics and natural disasters. In the last decades of the 17th century and the beginning of the 18th century, Satu Mare County was implicated in the conflict between the Habsburgs and Hungarian nobility. Rebellions against the Austrian regime of Hungary began even before the siege of Wien (1683). The fight started under the leadership of Emeric Thököly and took popular forms. They formed two camps: the camp of "curuţii" - traditional appointment for rebels in general, - and the camp of 'lobonţi "- supporters of the new regime.
