Tehnica tradiţională a acoperirii cu paie folosită în arhitectura populară din Munţii Apuseni

  • Subiect: The ethnographic area of Apuseni Mountains has a special importance as regarding the inheritance of the spiritual and material values, of the traditions preserved. Here we can notice a peculiar way of living, determined by the special geographic and social-cultural conditions, namely the so called "satele crânguri" (similar to the dispersed villages). This way of inhabitance is based on family relationships, particular on the way of cohabiting, determined by the difficult living conditions. Between 1995-1998 we have organized there a campaign of field research and of acquisitions of items for the museum. We shall deal in our study with those elements that regard the thatch roof technique, used in the vernacular wooden architecture in the area of Apuseni Mountains.
