Elemente ale spiritualităţii româneşti în spaţiul Civilizaţiei Populare Tradiţionale „Astra”

  • Subiect: The latest monuments of the Romanian spirituality in ASTRA The Museum of Traditional Folk Civilisation, Sibiu In regards to the church the goal was to illustrate the special architectural variety derived from the adjustment of this type of building. There are churches adjusted: to the religious needs (churches with incorporated spire typical for Transylvania, or those with adjoining steeple typical for Oltenia), to the structure or to the number of members of the local community (churches destined for a small and isolated community, such as those from Apuseni Mountains). Both aboriginal Catholic and Orthodox denominations are represented. The way the two churches are placed in the museum is established taking into consideration the proximity of the sites the churches are coming from. The area of public religious monuments is enlarged and enriched being completed with crucifixes and triptychs (road crosses). We tried to illustrate the typological alternatives that are closely connected with several factors such as: their significance, the materials and techniques in which they were made, location, utility, architectural and decorative particularities.
