Tezaurul monetar de la Tăşnad, sec. XV-XVII

  • Subiect: The Coin Hoard of Tuşnad, 15th-17h Century The paper deals with a hoard found in 1977 in the Tăşnad Township, Satu Mare district. It consists of 360 silver coins stored in an earthen recipient. The coins of the hoard were issued in Transylvania, Poland, Riga, Elbing, Hungary, Swidnica, Niederosterreich, Carinthia, Tirol, Silezia, Teschen, Liegnitz - Brieg, Bohemia, Moravia, the duchy of Friedland (by Albrecht von Wallenstein) in Prusia, in St. Galen and West Frisia; the hoard consists of two thalers, a six groschen coin, 11 three groschen coins, 28 broad groschen, 291 dreipölkers, 18 groschen, 8 half groschen and a solidus. The hoard represents about 1266.5 dinars. Out of this sum the Transylvanian issues represent 9.46%, the polish (together with the ones arrived here across Poland from Elbing, Riga, Prusia, etc.) 56.49%, the Hungarian issues 1.57%, the central - and west European issues 32.45%. The hoard belong to the Transylvanian hoards buried between 1629 and 1651 (see f. n. 8).
