Documentaţii pentru crearea unor rezervaţii naturale de interes naţional în judeţul Sălaj

  • Subiect: Documentation concerning the Creation of some Natural Reservations of National Interest in the Sălaj District In 1975 the administration of the Sălaj district gave the statute of natural reservation for four ecosystems and four fossil areas, but, for the time being, none of them was really included in the objectives of national reservations. A team from the Biological Research Center in Cluj has reanalyzed the scientific value of these districtual reservations and found out other ecosystems of certain interest too. As a result of these investigations, complete documentations for six future reservations (5 ecosystems and a geological structure) were realized. They have been presented to the Rumanian Academy. Our work is a summary of these materials. 1. The rocks from Cliţ are important because here was identified, from the first time in Romania, the Cytiso-Callunetum association, and Calluna vulgaris reaches a very low altitude for the conditions in the Romanian Carpathians (220 m). 2. The lake Ceheiu is a natural aquatic basin unmodified by human intervention, with a characteristic hygrophilous vegetation and fauna. 3. The swamp from Iaz preserves a valuable sediment of pollen, allowing to establish the vegetation history in this area during the last 8000 years. 4. In the Sălaj river plain, in the neighborhood of the Cehu Silvaniei town, there is a beautiful population of Fritillaria meleagris, a protected plant in Romania. 5. The narcissus glade from Racîş-Hida is remarkable by the abundance of Narcissus angustifolius species, flowering here in May. 6. „The Dragons' Garden" („Grădina Zmeilor") from Gîlgău Almaşului is an ensemble of high formations, with strange figures cut in sandstone by wind and water erosion. For all cases the proposed perimeters for protection and the necessary steps are indicated.
