Săpăturile arheologice din situl neolitic de la Chitila - Fermă - campania 2002 -

  • Subiect: 2002 excavations started with the clear purpose of re-checking the stratigraphy of the Neolithic tell. Uncovering new graves was also expected. The profile of the previous section was cleared and redrawn and a new section was cut (13x2 m). The first excavated layer, labeled US 1000 produced an impressive number of human bones and a large quantity of artifacts. Among them, worth mentioning are fragments of bone amulets, clay figurines, and also clay, copper, bone or shell beads. The entire material was assigned to the Gumelniţa culture (A2).
