Maeştri satmăreni de odinioară

Subiect: This work has the goat to present two personalities of the art of painting from Satu Mare: Ligeti Antal and Bartok Lajos. Ligeti Antal was born al Carei and, even if he was destined to be a merchant, after serious painting studies with masters as Carol Popp de Szatmary, the painter of royal court from Bucharest, or Marko Karoly, one ofthe most well known painters of XIXth century. he become on of the most creditable painters in Budapesta. Bartok Lajos is less known than Ligeti Antal but he has, also, indisputable merits. Perhaps he has a more important role because he worked a long time in Satu Mare. Even if in the patrimony of S atu Mare County Museum there are not paintings signed by him, we can realize the talent that he had because at Kălcsey Ferenc Secondary School there are kept 12 frescos signed by Bartok Lajos.
