The recognition of the museum is owing to its historical and documentary value and to the very rich heritage the museum holds. The outdoor museum in Dumbrava Sibiului is also considered as a unique, and maybe one of the most complete collection of traditional folk technologies. The collection displayed in museum covers almost all the categories and typology of what the occupational system has preserved in time, representative for a vast geographical and ethnographical area.
