  • Subiect: Iuliu Maniu and the „Popular Democracy” The author presents the political actions and reactions of Iuliu Maniu, the and of the 1947, his position concerning the Moscow armistice (signed bet leader of the National Peasant’s' Party, in the period between August 23, '1944 - ween Romanians and Soviet Union in the name of the Allies) his attitude towards the Communist Party and the government led by dr. Petru Groza. ln this context the author examines the parliamentary elections from November 1946, relations with King Michael I and the representatives of Great Britain, Framrce and Unites States in Bucharest, the arrest, trial and imprisoning of the leaders of the National Pessants' Party and the prohibition of this party.
