Mauriciu Blank (1848-1929) un bancher piteştean pe nedrept utitat

  • Subiect: Mauriciu Blank (1848-1929), a Banker Unfairly Forgotten Ştefan In 2008 were celebrated 160 years from the birth of the great banker Mauriciu Blank, but both the cultural institution and the local and national media did not say a word about the event. Beside a short biography of Mauriciu Blank, in this paper we present the two pieces (a medal and a booklet) emitted in 1923, in the occasion of the 75 anniversary from the birth of this personality of the Romanian economic life at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century. The pieces are in the custody of the Argeş County Museum. The medal was emitted by the Romanian Navy Service, while the booklet by the office workers of the Marmorosch Blank & Co. S.A. Through this paper we present the homage that such a personality deserves.
