  • Subiect: „Regarded, throughout its long existence. as a traditional museum, The Art Museum in lasi opens its ways towards contemporary art no sooner than 1999, lining up, at the beggining lnsecurely, with other institutions of the same profila in Romania and in most of the ex-communist countries in Europe. The first performance belonging to this genre coincides with the respondences exhibition, which took place within the 3" edition of the Peripheric festival. The organizer and curator of this festival, Matei Bejenaru, chose as the location, the space offered by our museum, which, during lhree editions, hosted a series of manifestations (such as exhibitions, symposiums), having as target the promoting of contemporary art in lasi.”
