Geneza notei lui Robert Lansing din 5 noiembrie 1918 privind aspiraţiile de unitate ale României

  • Subiect: The Genesis of the Note by Robert Lansing on Nov 5th Regarding the Expectations for Romania Unity One of the most important acts that proceeded and actually lead to the completion of the union of Transylvania with Romania on Dec. 1st 1918, was a note issued by the US government on Nov 5th 1918 and signed by Robert Lansing the Secretary of State. In the US, there was a group of Romanians who were intensely lobbying the US government to obtain an agreement or a declaration of support for the Romanian aspiration for unity. N. Lupu, Al. Lahovary and captain V. Stoica. Therefore, cpt. V. Stoica had submitted a memo to the Secretary of State Robert Lansing. The memo had been considered by the US government and its content will he strongly reflected in the note on Nov 5th 1918. This note meant an immense moral support for the unity of Transylvania with Mother Country Romania triggering a general and justified enthusiasm of the Romanians all over the world.
