  • Subiect: A tragic episode, less known, of the Maramureş history This study presents a very little explored problem: the events from Maramureş in the winter ancl the spring of 1945, a very important period for the territorial integrity of Romania, when, through a red herring organized and led by Secret Soviet Services under the authority of Nikita Sergeyevich Khrushchev (the President of People's Commissariat from Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic with the headquarters in Kiev), tried - and for a short time it was successful - the annexation of Romanian Maramureş (South of Tisa) to U.S.S.R.
