  • Subiect: THE LIFE AND ACTIVITY OF IOAN OSSIAN (1885-1953) On 4th January 2003 it was 50 years since Ioan Ossian died tragically, away from his family, at the channel, at Capul Midia. Ioan Ossian was one of the great scholars of that part of the country, a remarkable personality of the interwar Sălaj. After a whole life dedicated to society and democracy, he was arrested, at the age of 67 and deported to the canal works. He was a victim of the many communist regime victims which intended to remove the whole interwar elite.
