  • Subiect: The invention of the pocket watch was a stage in the history of the attempts of measuring time. The mechanism invented by Christian Huygens and the technical discoveries which followed, have contributed in perfecting the mechanism of pocket watches - in use up to the present day. Pocket watches are valued according to their precision but their decorative elements (frames, cases, chains a.s.o.) are also taken into consideration, mainly when made by noted European workshops.
