Istoricul societăţii petroliere I.R.D.P. (1920-1948)

  • Subiect: The History of Petroleum Company I.R.D.P. (1920-1948) The petroleum company I.R.D.P. was the second company with Romanian capital, established after the First World War to counterbalance the status in Romania, in which the majority of the companies were in operation using foreign capital. Although, at the beginning, the financing group formed by engineers, bankers, economists from the free zone, sustained by a series of strong banks, kept clean the Romanian capital, in time it will be managed by foreign entities, namely the French one, represented by the French company S.I.P.E.R. This will orient the company’s activity, by the end of 1940, towards the oil provision, necessary for France, being also part of its “jewelry”, following to be taken over by the German company „Südostchemie Handelsgellschaft” which will orient it, along with the continental companies, S.A.R.D.E.P., Petrol Block, towards Germany. Since September 1944, the assets will be taken over by the soviet company, “Obiedinenie Ukrneft”, which will use it later to create the company Sovrompetrol. In 1948, the company will be dissolved by absorption, representing, among other companies with Romanian capital, an initiative of the Superior technical personnel from Romania, which proved the technical and management capacities shown in the petroleum domain.
