Satul românesc în tranziţie şi muzeul "ASTRA" (recuperarea conştiinţei propriei identităţi etnoculturale)

  • Subiect: The Romanian village in transition and "ASTRA" Museum The "ASTRA" Museum tries to retrieve the conscience of ethno-cultural identity of the village inhabitants, whose monuments are restored in the Open Air Museum. The communist systems and its policy to expropriate and communalize led to the alienation and "uprooting" of those who created civilization goods and values and the results of their work. On such conditions the cultural patrimony was abandoned, alienated, sold or destroyed. The conscience of rural inhabitants recorded this situation as a "loss" of their goods and values even of those that meantime were restored and conserved by museums. The museal patrimony is considered as a motivated argument of the recovery process. In different ways the village inhabitants in transition are faced with this patrimony and they are involved in improving the ways of exhibiting the patrimony according to new social, political and cultural context. The proposed aim of the museum is achieved: the village inhabitants are aware of the patrimony that is still there and represents them.
