Materialele - o problemă pentru denarii imperiali suberaţi

  • Subiect: MATERIALS — A MATTER FOR ROMAN IMPERIAL SUBERATES Suberates are an uncertain problem of the ancient world. Some of the scientists consider them as fake coins and others consider suberates as an official fake for buying animals and goods from barbarians at lower price. It is well-known, that depreciation of denarius determines decrease of silver content in coin alloy. We can affirm that the value decrease of denarius determines appearance of csilver platted copper coins called suberates. In this paper we want to give tehnica} arguments for this theory. Analysing materials matter we can affirm that suberates are official coins which were in use at that time and silver plated copper was optimum solution.
