Spectacolul nunţii pe Valea Someşului, Aluniş, judeţul Sălaj

  • Subiect: THE WEDDING SPECTACLE ON THE SOMEŞ VALLEY - ALUNIŞ, SĂLAJ COUNTY The study presents the wedding custom from the Aluniş locality, Sălaj county, a nuptial ritual that includes in its structure a series of acts involving a magical feature. The entire community wanted to assist and to contribute to the wedding ceremonial as it considered itself compelled to see that the new family's integration takes place according to the existing laws, strictly honoured for entire generations. In the wedding spectacle, the rites are always accompanied by an "implement" (untouched water, basil, wheat, etc.), which form together with other elements with symbolic characteristics a single whole in the process of performing the magical ritual. Apart from the spectacular elements going with the ceremonial, for example the "balfău" and "ştergurile de nuntă" for the "fearful", in Aluniş we do not encounter the denomination of "wedding flag". In Aluniş there were two pears of people who call the guests: groom's callers and bride's callers. These were prepared ("gătiţi") by the bride's sisters and the friends (dressed in outfits characteristic for the village) with wedding towels made by the very hands of the bride, attached to the right shoulder and with beautifully decorated "balţauă ". The ritual is almost entirely accompanied by bridat poems, which are due to emphasize the connotation of the deeds of the "actors" up to a complete fusion, having often the role of marking the important moments of the ceremony. The songs, the dances, the nuptial poems fulfill this process, materialized under the form of rites that symbolize the transition from one phase of life to another and also to a new social status.
