Consecinţele colectivizării - mutaţii mentalitar -comportamentale

  • Subiect: THE MENTAL AND BEHAVIORAL ALTERATIONS CAUSED BY THE PROCESS OF COLLECTIVIZATION The aim of this study is to analyze the mental and behavioral alterations caused by the process of collectivization, with an important emphasis on the way this change had a profound impact on the traditional structures of the Romanian village. Our interest focused mainly on the way this fact was perceived in the following decades, based on Alexa Pasca's diary, who was a peasant from Alunis (Salaj); the diary contains notes covering the last twenty years of the communist regime. Before getting to the direct study of Alexa Pasca's writings, we thought it proper to present the fascinating conclusions of a case research undertaken by Vintil Mihailescu together with a team of specialists and students, during 1992-1995. This research took into account the investigation of the problems devolved by the post-revolution period, defined by the specialists as a “transition phase”; the area observed in the study concemed 2 rural communities from the districts of Ialomita (Crasani) and Dambovita (Voinesti), corresponding to two paradigms to be found in the economical-agricultural policy of the communist regime: collectivized village/ non-collectivized village. The abovementioned work substantiates that the collectivist nostalgias follow a progressive evolution, but the phenomenon is definitely not the result of a singular positive evaluation of the years following the collectivization; these nostalgias become obvious only in the case of a comparative context, being encouraged by the extremely bleak perspective depicted by a present that lacks favorable connotations. Otherwise, generally speaking, a comparative approach favors the exaggerated praising of the pastime. In his writing books Pasca reinforces the constantly positive appreciation of the time when the people had their own piece of land, a state considered to be obviously better as compared to the one triggered by the collectivization. Reading Alexa Pasca' s notes means an excellent memory exercise providing a plain picture of the events taken into account, but at the same time a very different one in comparison to the more recent reports characterized by a transparent inclination towards praising those particular times, as a response to a present prived of all perspectives.
