Aspecte privind căsătoria în satul românesc din nord-vestul Transilvaniei la mijlocul secolului al XIX-lea

  • Subiect: Aspects Regarding the Marriage in the Romanian Village in North-Western Transylvania in the Middle of the 19th Century An important co-ordinate, that includes the concrete historical problems of family, is represented by marriage, because the setting up of a family takes place only after the act of marriage. The present writing deals with the matter of the formation of the family with the Romanians in the middle of the 19th century in some places in the North-West of Transylvania. The main element in order to know the way in which the family was formed are: the reason of marriage, its purpose and the criteria of choice (age, interest, periods etc.). The choice of a wife or of a husband was limited, being conditioned by prejudices, by a characteristic mentality of the epoch. This conception had sometimes serious consequences upon the life of the married couple. The similarities in other geographical regions in the Romanian or European space attest the existence of same mental structures, characteristic for the respective epoch.
