Restaurarea şi conservarea unei paftale de bronz

  • Subiect: THE RESTORATION AND CONSERVATION OF A BRONZE BUCKLE On the summer of 2001 year, on the village Balşa, from Hunedoara district, the archaeology Ferencz Iosif Vasile, discovered an object made from bronze The specimen belong to roman period, having 17 cm lenght and 4,5 cm width. The restoration of the founded piece began with its cleaning. The piece supported a mechanical cleaning, with the help of the technical hang engine. Everything was performed with much care, because of the fragility of the object. After the mechanical cleaning, the piece was sink into distilled water successively, until it get a normal PH of 7,5. The drying of the object was done at a temperature of 75° C for 75 hours. Either the sticking of the fragments or the completion of missing parts was done with Araldit A W 106 and fortifying HV 953 V. Finally to protect the piece, 1 covered it with a thin coating of Paraloid B72 in proportion of 3%.
