Procesul criminalilor de război de la Ip, Treznea, Huedin, Mureşenii de Câmpie şi din alte localităţi sălăjene

  • Subiect: The Trial of War Criminals from Treznea, Zalău, Huedin, Mureşenii de Câmpie and other Localities from Sălaj. The Sentence of the People’s Court from Cluj on the 13th of March 1946 On the model of the Nuremberg International Court for War criminals there were trials of the war criminals in several countries affected by the war. In some countries the trials were very well prepared, of long standing and had serious implications in the after war life of society. In some other countries they were only formal, ended up in a hurry, without a sound preparation, constituting opportunities for the new governors to settle accounts with the opposition and the criminals were not followed till the end. There have been a lot of writings about the massacre perpetrated by the Hungarian occupation army in the North of Transylvania in September 1940, but they have been confusing, with contradictory dates, names and terms, relying mostly on recollections, personal testimonies, heterogeneous documents and even historical speculations. The bill of indictment, the documentation in this sense has been never published. The author presents now, completely, for the first time, the documents remitted by the People's Court from Cluj in March 1946 and the sentence given on the 13th of March 1946. Confronting these documents with the data from the reference historical literature concerning these events one can form a more realistic image about the things that had happened. At the same time the author points out that there have also remained unelucidated things, too.
