"Tezaurul român de la Moscova … a devenit subiectul unei poveşti fantastice"

  • Subiect: On December 15, 1916, loaded in 17 wagons plus four others carrying 200 guardians and 2 delegations of the Romanian Bank, the treasure of the National Bank of Romania and the jewels of Her Majesty Queen Mary of Romania were shipped to Moscow, „to be held in safety". On July 27, 1917, another part of the NRB treasure, together with values „of various banks, Ioan banks, archives and museal funds brought to Jassy" were also types of objects shipped. A comment is being made upon the conjunctures and upon the way the shipments were performed.
