Libertăţi şi servituţi în viaţa obştilor săteşti de pe domeniul Cetăţii de piatră (Chioar) în secolele XIII-XV

  • Subiect: Liberation and Servitudes of Village Communities on the „Cetatea de piatră” Domain in the 13th to 15th Century The setting up of the 'Stone Stronghold' and of its domain and of the adjacent administrative district in the second half of the 13th C., had been prompted by the need of the Hungarian Regality to control efficiently the area of the Sylvan Carpathians along a path used, after 1241, mainly by the Tartars. The village communities had established with the stronghold domain and district (as regal entities) certain rapports following their military services previously agreed upon. Within the conditional frame of the stately supreme authority in need of the services of efficient warriors, the submission of the villages to the jurisdiction of the Castellan of the stronghold had meant a guaranty for the maintenance of their traditional administrative, military, economic and legal forms of organization thus favoring the development of a Romanian society of deeply genuine features.
