A royal wedding at Sigmaringen / O nuntă regală la Sigmaringen

  • Subiect: During the wedding ceremonies, the religious question imposed that some compromises were necessary from the British Royal Court and also from the Romanian party together with the of Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen family. The religious matter was also delicate for the Vatican, the Catholic Church being against the Orthodox christening for future children of the royal couple. In the event, marriage between a Roman Catholic and a Protestant produced strained relations between Prince Ferdinand and Rome.
