Un document şcolar de la 1874 - "Protocolu visitaţiunei şcoalei confesionale greco-catolice din Şeredeiu"

  • Subiect: A School Document from 1874: The Minute Book of the Greek-Catholic Confessional of Şeredeiu (Sălaj District) The author presents a minute book of the Greek-catholic confessional school of Şeredeiu, a school document which records the visits of the church and local administrative authorities between 1874-1926. The register contains various information about the annual examinations of the pupils done by Alimpiu Barboloviciu as an examiner. He was the vicar of Silvania county (district) and the president of the Romanian Teachers Association from Sălaj. The results of the summer examinations, gives an image of the method of the school teaching in this period. The notes by the notary or by the physician shows the hard material conditions in which the teacher had to do his job. The document also points to the attitude of the teacher and the headmaster towards the policy of hungarisation of the Romanian school. In the annex synthetic data are given concerning: the number of children that attended the school, the number of children that had to attend school, the number of annually examined pupils.
