  • Subiect: 150 Years from the Birth of Ion Posescu (1858-1951) a Great Personality of Piteşti and Argeş He was born on the 28th of April 1858 in Târgu Neamţ. He graduated the Orthodox Seminary, Socola, Iaşi; then he became an office worker for CFR (1880) and then a leader of the railway movement (1896-1897). He published in Bucharest the first magazine of the railway workers The Railway (18897-1899); he published the work The Issues of the Railway Workers (1898). He moved definitively to Piteşti in 1899. Here he became a wine grower, after he had studied in France.
