Ţara Românească şi Moldova - în reprezentări cartografice timpurii (1458-1596)

  • Subiect: Wallachia and Moldova - In Early Map Drawing Representations (1458-1596) Moldavia and Wallachia in early cartography (1458-1596) Early cartographic representations of Moldavia and Wallachia can be divided into three main categories: 1. On the maps from Central Europe of Cusanus they appear on the Lower Danube Valachia Magna (Moldova ) and Magna Valachia (Valahia); 2. The first correct representation of the two Romanian countries belongs to Johannes Honterus ; this form has been taken and spread by the European cartography in atlases and descriptions of the world (cosmographies); During the fifteen year war (1529-1605), numerous maps of Wallachia and Moldavia appear with Suceava and Targoviste mentioned as headquarters of the local rulers (sedes voievodate).
