  • Subiect: A cameo and three bronze statuettes discovered at Porolissum The items discussed were discovered during the archaeological excavations in the "temple" area of Porolissum (province of Dacia Porolissensis). 1. Sardonyx cameo representing the goddess Pallas Athena (Plate I); 38 mm high; 25 mm wide. Unique among discoveries in Dacia. Dating: sec. II d. 2. The bronze statue representing Harpocrates holding a chase under his left arm. Dates: the end of the 2nd century - the beginning of the 2nd century (Plate II-III). 3. The bronze statue representing the goddess Isis, with scorpions, weep her husband Osiris. Dating: the beginning of the third century. It seems to be an unpublished image of Isis. (Plate IV-VIII). 4. The bronze statue representing Mars. Dating: the second century. (Plate IX-X). All four objects were discovered near the temple of Bel, the former temple of Liber Pater. The presence of Harpocrates statues and Isis (as well as the discovery of a statuette of Apis and Isis with Horus) is dependent on the Egyptian Porolissum denominations.
