  • Subiect: DOCUMENTS REGARDING THE ACTIVITY OF „ASTRA" IN SĂLAJ. BĂSEŞTI DISTRICT (1908-1921) The Băseşti district of Astra was founded on the 2nd of March 1913, once the assembly of its setting up was held in the Oarţa de Jos school. Vasile Pop, archpriest of the settlement was chosen as leader of the district. The published documents were taken over from the County Department of National Archives Sibiu from the archives of Astra. The documents gives us information about: George Pop de Băseşti's position in 1908 towards the new organization of Astra's districts; the registry of the setting up assembly of the Băseşti district; lists with founder members, members for life, ordinary members, helpers from the district and lists with all the taxes paid; the correspondence between the administration of Astra and the district about its activity; a letter from Astra to Elena Pop Hossu-Longin, expressing regrets regarding the death of George Pop de Băseşti; the reorganization of the Băseşti district after 1918.
