Ion I. C. (Ionel) Brătianu şi proiectul Antantei de a crea un bloc balcanic (noiembrie 1914-martie 1915)

  • Subiect: Ion I. C. (Ionel) Brătianu and Entente' s Intentions to Establish a Balkan Block (November 1914-March 1915) This article is focused on Ion I. C. Brătianu's cleverness and intransigence as a diplomat in the moment he wanted to obtain the best possible terms for Romania, in every circumstances. For instance, during the period November 1914-March 1915, this Romanian statesman was very skeptical on the idea of giving up some territory in Southern Dobrodja as a price for Bulgarian friendship, by constantly requesting to the Entente's Great Powers that an agreement on Macedonian Question, between Bulgaria, Serbia and Greece should be reached, as a basic condition for any concession from Romania towards Bulgaria. On the other hand, the solidarity between Romania and Greece, in the late 1914, discouraged Bulgaria to join Central Powers and facilitated Serbian's offensive, despite some miss agreements between Romanian and Serbian diplomacy.
