Suprafeţele ceramice şi design - un volum de excepţie în anul capitalei culturale europene - 2007

  • Subiect: This year, with the financial support of the Regional Council of Sibiu, of the Association „Sibiu - European Cultural Capital 2007" and of the official sponsor The Fundation of Transylvanian Saxons from Munchen, it was edited the volume dedicated to the lnternational Symposium of Ceramic „Ceramic surfaces and design", which comprises in 183 pages, Romanian and German Languages, 24 essays of specialty and 24 drawing boards of an exceptional quality. Each contribution is published in the language it was presented and completed with one summary in the other language - Romanian/German and viceversa. The publication aproached different themes, as well as the different results obtained following the researches in the last years regarding the traditional production of ceramics from Central and Northern Remania, marbled pottery and blue China pottery discovered în Austria, the presentation of some actual aspects regarding the identity of the ceramic production from Corund, ornamental analysis elements of the ceramics from Horezu, the medieval ceramics archeologically discovered în the regions around Sibiu, motives and symbols used in the traditional ceramics, lberian and Italian „majolica", Haban and Posthaban ceramics from the „ASTRA" Museum collection, tiles with apotropeic function and tile stoves from Budapest, „Steinzeug" ceramics from Rin, „Dumitru Russu"- a potter of luxury discovered to Sălişte etc. By publishing the papers presented to the scientific session in 2006, and further on, by putting it în scientific circulation, there has been made an important step în the fully knowledge of an important field of European history and civilisation.
