  • Subiect: MONUMENTS OF THE MARTYRS FROM T RGU LĂPUŞ On the 5th of December 1918, in the town of Târgu Lăpuş, 32 Romanians civilians were murdered and 140 others were injured by Hungarian soldiers from the 39 Debrecin Regiment. The town hall and the citizens raised four memorials to commemorate the Romanian martyrs. They also dedicated a memorial plaque to the Hungarian mayor, who had saved the life of the Romanian intellectuals condemned to death by the same murderers.
