  • Subiect: In 1942 Romanian botanist and amateur archaeologist and numismatist Alexandru Borza presented the Commission of Historical Monuments with a report regarding some Roman archaeological vestiges which he had discovered in the Banat region. Archaeologist Scarlat Lambrino and archivist Alexandru Sacerdoţeanu, the two experts appointed by the Commission to assess the information provided by Borza, deemed it useful and considered Borza’s interest in archaeology praiseworthy. However, they both emphasized the importance of a proper archaeological investigation in the area.
