• Subiect: Basarab I and Vladislav I at Argeş. - Testimonies From The ”St. Nicholas” Lordly Church - 1. The Date When the Graphite Regarding the Death of Basarab I Was Made. - 2. Again About Vlaicu Vodă - Founder and Donor at Athos Basarab I Vv. (c. 1310 - 1351/52), the son of Tihomir’s, probably born around 1280 in the lordly settlement from Argeş, in Curtea Veche, which had been existing for some time in the first capital the Wallachia, after the events of the year 1330 (the war against the Hungarian king Carol Robert de Anjou), more precisely fl. 1340 erected beside The New Court, keeping from the older one the praying room, called Argeş-I (fl. 1200), situated to NE, under the actual monument founded by the voivode Vladislav I or Vlaicu Vodă (1364 - c. 1377), a famous architectural work, yet called Argeş-II and dated 1365-1369 (fig. 1-2). Though by chance, Basarab Vv. did not die on its Throne from Argeş, but in a neighbour shire, as it is attested in a graphite situated on the northern wall of the construction of Vladislav Vv’s, i.e. : „/trad. from Slav./ year 6860 <1351/52>, at Câmpulung died Basarab The Great Voivode”. As a coincidence, the name Basarab in graphite presents exactly the same letters like the one mentioned by the same person on the tomb stone Nicolae Alexandru Vv.’s (he died on the 16th of November 1364) from Câmpulung, as shown in fig. 3. consequently, the author jumps to the following conclusion: the graphite dated from 1364 (being, besides other one from the Lordly Church just a matter of memory), anyway from the times when Vlaicu Vodă was building the Lordly Church: ergo, the note date is in no way linked to the edification of the church.
