Metode şi tehnici de restaurare a unui chimir

  • Subiect: This object is a girdle /rom the collection "ASTRA" from 20th century Transilvania. lt is manually made from cow skin and belongs to romanian popular costume. It is closed by three skin belts and three buckles. The decorations are on the exterior side and have floral decorations and some painted skin. The piece presents metal oxidation degradation due to wear skin dehydration and has some cracks in the support. To avoid these factors the piece was investigated, treated with different substances like: lanoline, fungicide, beeswax. For metal was used a pencil from glass fibre and Paraloid B72. The rest of the piece was completed with cow skin. After the restoration the piece recovers the elasticity and can be exposed.
