Monetary Reforms and the Circulation of the Local Coinage in 15th-17th Centuries Moldavia: Some Remarks About a Coin of Peter I (cca. 1375-1391) Found in a Mid-17th Century hoard from Iassy

  • Subiect: Starting from a coin struck at the end of 14th century found in a hoard from the 17th century, the author seeks to present the evolution of the monetary circulation during the 15th-17th centuries, in the Moldavian territory. Therefore, the author presents the most important modifications suffered by the Moldavian monetary system during these centuries and which are the elements that could explain the presence of this early coin in the hoard uncovered in Jassy, in 2002.
