Seigniorage, Barred Culling and Wisdom of „al-marco” Coinage

  • Subiect: The aim of this paper is to present a complex metrological analysis, in order to explain the differences of the weight values and alloy composition of the coins during the Middle Ages and the use of “al-marco” system. The author concentrates his attention on the issues of Venice from the end of the 14th century and of Moldavia from the second half of the 15th century.
