Jetoanele fabricii de zahăr de la Mărăşeşti / The Mărăşeşti Sugar Factory Tokens

  • Subiect: Mărăşeşti sugar factory was founded in 1897 at the initiative of George Ulysse Negroponte and benefited from the beginning of the advantages granted by the Romanian sugar industry. On 6th of August 1917, as a consequence of German bombing, the sugar factory from Mărăşeşti was destroyed and it was never rebuilt. The tokens presented in the article were used in the factory's canteen and were used to pay the food consumed by the company's employees.
