Victor Deleu candidat în alegerile parlamentare din anii 1910-1911

  • Subiect: Victor Deleu was an important personality, who took part in the national movements organized in Sălaj Country at the end of the 19th century and at the beginning of the 20th century. As a publicist, member of the Romanian National Party in Transylvania, weal-know all over Sălaj Country for his activity as a lawyer who defended/ pleaded for the cause of the Romanian people, he stood twice as a candidate for a seat in Hungarian Parliament in Budapest. Victor Deleu didn't succeed in toking a seat in Parliament duel to the intrigues and the pressure put on the Romanians being over taken by the Hungarian opponents; but the election campaigns at the beginning of the 20th century proved that the Romanian population living in Sălaj was fully involved in political life to defend their political and national right. The press of those times dedicated many pages to the election campaigns taking place in Sălaj, high lighting the role of masses in deciding on political orientation of the Romanians after abolishing the "activism" as a fighting tactics against the injustice done by the Austro-Hungarian regime.
