Himerele în Cetate: "O problemă de perspectivă"

  • Subiect: As „marginals", as the society tends to classify them - be it by laziness, indifference, rudeness or ignorance - Artists have always manifested themselves as special; artists are not only nonadjustable to a given social leveling mould stating a minimized common denominator, but they impose and claim a special configuration of human inter-relations, by their quest of the spiritual, recuperating subjectivity which may cover a large specter going from „ cosa mentale" to the irrational, from the lucid genius to the pseudo-madness of the wisest, overtaking the „common" sense, recuperating sensitiveness and cognitive intuition and the ostentatious need of individuation as a fundamental quality of the human condition. From the point of view of their importance within the quest for the Absolute, the chimeras - those created by sculptor Dimitrie Paciurea, or by writer Urmuz - prove to be vital breaks within the rigid frames of the banal anthropic surrounding that André Breton for instance, has considered insufficient for the power of thinking. The reality of the chimeras consists not only of their formal perfection, of their consistency, but mainly of the necessary protest they assert against all limitation of the human intelligence obstructed in its vital exercise of exploring a Reality more complex than the social conventional enclosures of a given place or epoch.
