  • Subiect: The Layout of the Elisabeta Boulevard The layout of the Elisabeta Boulevard - Bucharest 1865 - 1890 - represented an important urbanistic intervention, made under the influence of Baron Hausmann’s ideas. The most important architects of the time were consulted, in order to settle the route; two solutions were suggested. In the end, the solution was chosen of the route going in an opposite direction, as compared to the ideal one, but this line was better fit to the ground and the existing street net. The new boulevard, which was bordered in time by important buildings and has determined the systematization of other thoroughfares, has proved to be the favorable solution for the town.
