Din nou despre calendarele româneşti din colecţiile Muzeului Naţional al Unirii - Alba Iulia (secolele XVIII–XX)

  • Subiect: AGAIN ON ROMANIAN CALENDARS FROM COLLECTIONS OF NATIONAL MUSEUM OF UNIFICATION ALBA IULIA (XVIIITH – XXTH CENTURIES) By this study we make important preparations for whole indexing of Catalogues, Almanacs and Romanian Schematisms from the collections of the National Museum of Unification from Alba Iulia. We start, as previously, in 2000, Doina Dreghiciu registered this collection, but in the meantime new copies were purchased, and some of the old ones were not taken into consideration on the first quantitative assessment, which slightly modifies the whole image created in the mentioned year. Searching for an indexing model, we transliterated as many as possible texts of these popular printings, highly appreciated by the audience, paying attention inclusively to advertisements, news, photographic images, some from the battlefield of the First World War, gossips, literary creations, even if they did not have special literary value, historical texts etc with the purpose of recomposing this group of messages, extremely diverse that was directed towards common consumer, to model him/her intellectually, psychically and esthetically etc., sure enough also to manipulate him/her to a political, social, national or other direction (and it could be noticed as ever since 1925–1926, probably also previously, Calendarul foii interesante (Calendar of interesting sheet) from Orăştie modelled imperceptibly the public to embrace extreme-right ideology etc.). Our goal is that of delivering some synthetical judgements, based on analysis of content and formal, about importance of this type of printings and readings, extremely spread and listened to at their time in establishing modern national and Romanian contemporaneous identity, yet this thing would be possible only in stages. Until then, we have several stages to reach. Out of the incipient Catalogue, it is revealed the exquisite value of Calendars that come from library of Gavril Todica, a collection of authentic bibliophilist value, by the copies themselves and some handwritten notes throughout them.
