Din nou despre piesele cu caracter special de la Porţ „Corău” - Altăraşe

  • Subiect: Some remarks about Neolithic altars/cult tables from Port ”Corau” One of the most important neolithic sites in north-western Romania is at Porţ / Suplacu of Barcău „Corau“. As a result of numerous research campaigns, an impressive amount of archaeological material has been unearthed. The two objects, which are the subject of the present study and are the rarest artifacts found, belong to a miniature altar. Both pieces were found in the archaeological layer assigned to the Stračevo Criş culture and Suplac type II. Found in association with them were numerous clay feet that may have been part of miniatures altars or to other types of artefacts, such as statues, anthropomorphic vessels, etc.
