  • Subiect: The Oil Company Concordia - the Mining Department Schitu Goleşti, Muşcel County (1938-1944) The study refers to the activity of an important sector created in 1938, to diversify the productions, by the Oil Company „Concordia”, despite the fact that its main branch, i.e. oil domain, was in regression. This was the mining sector for the exploitation of ores from Transylvania (gold, silver, bauxite) and of the coal from the mines from Schitu Goleşti in Muscel County. The obtained productions were used in the electric sector of the company that was providing electric energy for Prahova Valley, Bucharest and other towns around the coal basin: Câmpulung, Târgovişte, etc. and also the need of Romanian Railways, the main coal consumer in that period. There are mentioned the productions obtained, main activities performed by the company's administration personnel and workers, working conditions, workers' needs, dissemination of culture attempts by means of “Labor and Light Office” etc.
