Some particular points stood out: the explanation given for Gheorghiu-Dej attitude towards Lucretiu Patrascanu and Jugoslav leader Tito; the impact of the Hungarian uprising; the repression of tentative steps towards de-Stalinization; the relationship between Gheorghiu Dej and Nikita Khrushchev; the withdrawal of Soviet troops from Romania and the beginning of a relative independence from the Soviet Union.
