Un destin tragic - Virgil Potârcă (1888-1954), om politic, prieten şi colaborator al lui Armand Călinescu, iniţiator al înfiinţării Mitropoliei Olteniei - 60 de ani de la sfârşitul tragic la Sighetul Marmaţiei

  • Subiect: A Tragic Destiny - Virgil Potârcă (1888-1954), Politician, Friend & Collaborator of Armand Călinescu, Initiator of the Foundation of the Bishopric of Oltenia - 60 Years from His Tragic Death in Sighetul Marmaţiei Virgil Potârcă was born in Pleniţa – Dolj. He became a PhD in law in Paris. He studied also the agricultural science. He was an important member of P.N.Ţ. & a minister in the inter-war period. He was a friend & a collaborator of Armand Călinescu. He was the president of the Agricultural Department of Romania & the initiator of a democratic law. He was arrested during the communist regime together with the entire lot of dignitaries and passed away in May 1954 in Sighetu Marmaţiei. A part of the distinctions given by the Romanian state & other states which were given by the family to the Museum of Oltenia are presented here.
