Aspecte privind activitatea Partidului Social Democrat - Titel Petrescu în Argeş (1945-1948)

  • Subiect: Aspects Regarding the Activity of the Social Democratic Party-Titel Petrescu in Argeş (1945-1948) The Romanian Social Democratic Party was the representative of the social democracy in the Romanian political life until the establishing of the communist dictatorship. The party was founded in 1927 when the whole socialist movement was centralized. Among its first members: George Grigorovici, Constantin Titel Petrescu, Ilie Moscovici, Iosif Jumanca, Ioan Flueraş şi Ştefan Voitec. The article refers to the activity of the Argeş County Branch of the P.S.D., as well as nominal situations regarding its members, the connection between the county organization & the central one from Bucharest, the propagandistic activity of the party, the preservation of the democracy in Romania. In February 1948 P.S.D. merged with P.C.R. becoming the Romanian Workers Party (PMR). Two month later the leaders of the P.S.D. were arrested and consequently the party vanished from the political life.
